Rachel has worked for 20 years in the Commonwealth Government, holding leadership positions across several social and economic policy areas, including workplace relations, skills and training.
Rachel has led significant policy and legislative reform processes, including negotiating the 2020 COAG Vocational Education and Training Reform Roadmap and working with business and union leaders to implement industry-led solutions to workforce challenges. Most recently, Rachel led the Taxation and Financial Sector Branch within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Rachel is currently the First Assistant Secretary, Regions and Workers Division, within the Net Zero Economy Authority. Among other things, she has responsibility for ensuring workers, their families and communities can be supported to respond to the risk and opportunities of the transition to net zero, with a particular focus on those regions with upcoming coal-fired power station closures.
