Felix Pirie is Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA), Australia’s largest and most diverse tertiary education peak body.

Appointed as Deputy Chief Executive – Policy & Research at ITECA in 2019, Felix has been responsible for leading policy advocacy across skills training, higher education, and international education over a turbulent period for the sector. He champions independent skills training and higher education providers, fostering productive and collaborative relationships with governments, regulators and industry.  

Being brought up in a small business environment and with a background in government policy development and reform across workplace relations, education, and defence, Felix has driven policy and legislative reforms for over two decades. At ITECA, he works with a first-class team to support independent tertiary education providers ensuring they can grow, innovate, and support Australia’s national economic and social goals. His active engagement with independent providers across the skills training, higher education, and international education sectors has been a key factor in driving meaningful education reform.
