The industrial landscape has stabilised over the past 12 months. What steps are the Fair Work Commission and the Fair Work Ombudsman taking in response? This panel will provide delegates with insights into the roles of both bodies, how they support the industrial settings on which the civil workforce relies, and practical advice on how contractors can make compliance easier.
Infrastructure Australia is releasing its next Industry Market Capacity report which provides the Federal Government with the priority areas for the civil and construction industries. Coupled with the CCF Annual Infrastructure Capacity report, delegates will consider growth areas for civil.
State, territory and local governments are shifting priorities, with many now pouring investment into critical water assets. What does this surge in spending mean for the industry, and how will it reshape opportunities for contractors on the ground?

Collaborate with your civil industry colleagues from across the country at the MEGT Trade Show Lunch.
1.00pm Concurrent Sessions
Please select which concurrent session below you are planning on attending at 1:00pm.
Being on time and on budget is the make or break factor in today’s increasingly challenging construction environment. How can technology support contractors in winning work, delivering projects, and ensuring quality assurance in the period ahead?
The 2025 CCF Annual Market Survey highlights once again the pressures contractors face in securing skilled trades to deliver major projects. Civil construction is gaining renewed recognition for the critical work it undertakes, and for the need to prioritise skills across the industry. What changes can we expect over the next 12–24 months to ensure projects are delivered?
With the Climate Change Authority recommending new 2035 net zero targets for the Federal Government, one certainty is clear: the civil industry will be at the forefront of delivering renewable energy projects. This transition creates major opportunities for contractors to build the infrastructure that underpins Australia’s clean energy future, while also supporting workers moving from coal-fired generation in regional communities. This session will explore the emerging opportunities for civil contractors in the energy transition.

1.45pm       Concurrent Sessions
Please select which concurrent session below you are planning on attending at 1:45pm.
Projects are complex with risk and variations that can see the viability of the business challenged. This breakout considers the technology and expertise analysing risk that is driving productivity in civil businesses.
Plant operations requires the right equipment, reliable vendors and the training that supports road, rail, subdivision, sewerage, water infrastructure. Some demonstrations of the plant and AI support with training is providing greater capacity to undertake projects.
The cost of delivery of a kilometre of road or highway has increased since the pandemic. Circular procurement and the government requirement for greater reuse is part of the tender process for increasing priorities and a more sustainable industry. Opportunities for contractors to deliver key projects.
